In case of an earthquake
- Drop to the ground immediately if you are inside, if you have a wheelchair or walker, make sure the wheels are locked and take cover
- Stay away from windows and walls and stay inside until the earthquake is over
- Do not attempt to outrun the earthquake
- Do not go inside a building for help if you are outside
- Move into an open area
- If you are crowded make sure you don’t get trampled on
- Watch out for falling buildings or structures to prevent injuries
- Stay away from other dangers such as falling power lines or gas mains
- If you are in a vehicle, avoid bridges, overpasses or anything that could collapse.
- If you can, turn on a radio to listen to emergency officials and instructions.
- It would be much safer to stay inside your vehicle and wait to be rescued
- Make sure you are not blocking the road for emergency vehicles

- Go through an emergency plan with you family or workmates
- Meet at emergency points and practise drills
